If you have played Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series on Playstation, it is time to get hyped! Actor Tom Holland, the young star who is the lead of a Sony property — Spider-Man— will now be essaying the role of young Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the Uncharted video game series.

The adaptation that was planned several years ago had seen its fair share of shuffle between directors and had finally bagged director Shawn Levy last year. Now, it is ready to move forward with this fresh casting.

Levy, known for movies like Real Steel and Night at the Museum, is expected to deliver a film that will serve as a prequel/origin story of the game’s globetrotting and treasure hunting protagonist, Nathan Drake.

The movie is expected to borrow heavily from a sequence in the third iteration of the video game — Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception— that focused on the young thief Drake, and his first encounter with the professional rogue (and soon to be father figure and mentor), Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan.
